The Wikipedia article on Anatolian Shepherds is excellent. It gives general information about the breed including size and temperament.

My job is to guard everything on the place. It is an important job and this farm could not run without me. I often stay in the pasture at night to guard. I have figured out how to get through the gates again so I can get into the barn to sleep with the goats. This is nice expecially when the weather is very cold or there is a blizzard.
In the mornings after the goats have their grain we all go to the pasture. We may be out there all day only coming in for water sometime in the afternoon.
A very important part of my job is being sure everyone who visits behaves. When in doubt I sit or lie between my family and the visitors. Most people seem to understand that this is my job and I take it seriously. There are a few who try to pat my head and make me play but I knock them around a little or do some crotch sniffing and they settle down.
Sometimes in the evenings a coyote comes in close and yips. Often a pack will set up a group howl in the forests that surround us. I bark as big as I can. Patty says she trained them to keep their distance. She recenty retired and lies around in the yard or the house most of the time. It is up to me now.
I am glad to have this important job to do.
